Dortmund cruises past Hoffenheim
Sinsheim, Germany (Sports Network) - Borussia Dortmund received two second- half goals to return to third place in the Bundesliga with a 3-1 defeat of Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar Arena on Sunday.
Mario Gotze helped Dortmund jump out to an initial lead with a goal in the 26th minute, but Hoffenheim equalized through Sven Schipplock nine minutes later.
Dortmund would not be undone on the day though, marching on to all three points thanks to Kevin Grosskreutz and Robert Lewandowski in the 58th and 66th minutes' respectively.
With 30 points through 17 games, Dortmund reclaims its second-place position in the Bundesliga table, inching two points closer to Bayern Munich after its draw with Borussia Monchengladbach on Friday.
Hoffenheim has lost six straight in league play to remain third from bottom on 12 points.
Werder Bremen 1, Nurnberg 1
Bremen, Germany - Werder Bremen and Nurnberg exchanged goals inside the final eight minutes to play to a 1-1 draw at the Weserstadion on Sunday.
Nurnberg thought it had done enough to claim all three points when Timo Gebhart scored in the 82nd minute, but Nils Petersen canceled out the goal with one of his own six minutes later.
Bremen improves to 22 points in the Bundesliga, two points better than Nurnberg.
