The Los Angeles Angels may be on the verge of making a major splash in the free agent market, according to several sources, including Buster Olney.

According to Joe McDonnell, the Angels may be in talks with outfielder Josh Hamilton. McDonnell is reporting the two sides are in serious negotiations.

So far this off-season, the team has seen pitcher Zack Greinke leave for the Dodgers and outfielder Torii Hunter leave to go to the Tigers on a two year contract.

Last season, Hamilton, who has been tied to the Mariners, Phillies and Rangers this off-season, hit .285 with 43 home runs in 148 games.

According to Yahoo's Tim Brown, the Angels and Hamilton are getting close to a deal.
