Report: Rays close to deal with pitcher Roberto Hernandez
The Tampa Bay Rays are close to a deal with free agent pitcher Roberto Hernandez, according to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times.
Hernandez, formerly Fausto Carmona, pitched in only three games for the Indians in 2012 after a suspension for a false identity. Carmona returned in August, but was shut down due to an ankle injury.
In his career, he has a 53-69 record with a 4.64 ERA.
