Canucks' Schneider signs in Swiss league

Vancouver Canucks goalie Cory Schneider has agreed to a contract with HC Ambri-Piotta of the Swiss League.

Last week he told reporters:

"If the season's cancelled, then it's (considering Europe is) important, because I'm at a point in my career where I can't really sit around for 18 months and not play any games."

Last season, Schneider played in 33 games for the Canucks, going 20-8-1. His 1.96 goals against average was good for third best in the NHL.
