The officials at Stadio Olimpico gave it 30 minutes, but the decision has come to call off Roma's home encounter with Parma due to a water logged pitch. 

A makeup date has yet to be announced.

MILAN, Feb 02, 2014 - Torrential rain in the Italian capital on Sunday led to the temporary postponement of the Roma-Parma game.

The referee called the game off in the ninth minute with the match scoreless after players from both sides complained of playing conditions.

Reports on Sky Sport Italia suggested officials would wait 30 minutes before deciding whether the match could restart.

Roma started the game six points adrift of leaders and champions Juventus, who host Inter Milan in Sunday's late game.

To say it's wet in Rome right now would be an understatement. 

Players from Roma and Parma voiced their concerns about the pitch quality at Stadio Olimpico throughout the game's opening minutes. Finally, the referee decided to suspend play. 

Play was suspended in the 9th minute and it is unknown whether the game will continue.
