Thiago Silva suspended six months by UFC

UFC light heavyweight fighter Thiago Silva has been suspended by the orgainzation for six months for failing a drug test. Silva tested positive for marijuana after his fight on November 10th in Macau. He will also be forced to enter a drug rehabilitation program. Silva will befored to pass a drug test after his suspension is finished to be allowed to return to fighting.

Silva was suspended and fined in January 2011 for submitting a fake urine sample after defeating Brandon Vera at UFC 125. Silva holds a career 14-3 (2 NC) fighting record and was expected to face former light heavyweight champion Shogun Rua at UFC 149 before being forced to pull out from the fight due to injury.
