Report: Kaepernick will start Sunday for 49ers
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is going with Colin Kaepernick as his starting QB this coming Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from Sports Illustrated's Jim Trotter.
Kaepernick started in place of incumbent QB Alex Smith this past week against the Bears, leading the team to a 32-7 win. The sophmore QB completed 16 of 23 pass attempts for 2 TDs against one of the top defences in the NFL after Smith was knocked out of the team's previous game with a concussion.
Smith told ESPN that Kaepernick will take all of the first team reps in practice this week.
The 7-2-1 49ers are on the road this week to face the 5-5 Saints.
