Broncos work out RB Steve Slaton
Free agent running back Steve Slaton worked out for the Denver Broncos on Tuesday according to a tweet from Jason La Canfora of the NFL network.
The Broncos are looking to add depth at running back after learning that starter Willis McGahee will be out 6-8 weeks with a torn MCL.
They are currently carrying three RB's on the roster, but if McGahee were to transfered to the injured reserve, that would free up a roster spot.
The 26-year old Slaton, last played in 2011 with the Dolphins. As a rookie he posted career highs of 1,282 yards and 9 touchdowns. However, he ran in fumble problems in his second season, coughing it up 7 times.
