Steelers sign Plaxico Burress

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran wide receiver Plaxico Burress.
The Steelers are down two receivers after Jerricho Cotchery fractured his ribs in Sunday's loss to Baltimore, while Antonio Brown has missed Pittsburgh's last two games with an ankle injury. Burress reportedly impressed the team in a workout.
Plaxico spent the first five seasons of his career with the Steelers from 2000-2004. In 10 career NFL seasons, Burress has totalled 550 receptions for 8457 yards and 63 touchdowns in stints with Pittsburgh, the Giants and the Jets. He missed the 2009 and 2010 seasons while imprisoned for criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.
