Report: Javier Vazquez considering comeback

According to a tweet from the MLB Network's Peter Gammons, right-handed pitcher Javier Vazquez is potentially considering a comeback to the majors. Vazquez will pitch for Ponce in the Puerto Rico Professional Baseball League before pitching for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic in March. Vazquez will then see how he feels and see if he feels like he wants to come back to the majors.

Vazquez last pitched in the major leagues in the 2011 season for the then Florida Marlins, going 13-11 with a 3.69 ERA, and 1.18 WHIP in 192.2 innings pitched. Vazquez was voted to the All-Star game in 2004 and has a career record of 165-160 with 2,536 strikeouts.
