Steelers' Mendenhall will not play vs. Redskins

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall has been ruled out of Sunday's matchup against the Washington Redskins, according to Jason La Canfora.

Mendenhall, who has been out since suffering an Achilles injury in Week 6 against the Titans, is expected to return to action against the New York Giants in Week 9.

On the year, Mendenhall has 74 yards on the ground on 19 carries with one receiving touchdown.
