Valanciunas' calf strain not serious
Toronto Raptors centre Jonas Valanciunas, who will make his NBA debut this season, has been seen around Toronto wearing a walking boot. On Monday, the team announced that Valanciunas suffered a left calf strain while participating in a voluntary workout on Saturday.
While there is no timetable for Valanciunas' return, Raptors fans can collectively breathe a sigh of relief to know that the injury is not considered to be serious.
Valanciunas, who was drafted with the fifth overall pick in the 2011 draft, spent the 2011-12 season playing in the Lithuanian Basketball League, where he was under contract with Lietuvos Rytas.
