Blue Jays activate Lawrie, Arencibia, recall three

The Toronto Blue Jays have activated catcher J.P. Arencibia and third baseman Brett Lawrie off the 15-day disabled list. Both are expected to be in the lineup Friday night against the Boston Red Sox.

Arencibia has been out since July 25th with a fractured hand, while Lawrie has been out since the beginning of August with an oblique injury.

The Blue Jays also recalled three players from Triple-A Vegas. Infielder/catcher Yan Gomes, pitcher David Carpenter and pitcher Joel Carreno will all be available for manager John Farrell tonight.
