Rangers' Profar homers in first at-bat

CLEVELAND (AP) Jurickson Profar has homered in his first career at-bat for the Texas Rangers.

The 19-year-old hit a 2-1 pitch from Cleveland starter Zach McAllister an estimated 388 feet over the right-field wall as Texas' No. 9 hitter in the third inning on Sunday.

Profar became a surprise starter at second base when Ian Kinsler came up with a stiff back before the game.

Profar is the first player born in 1993 to play in a major league game. He hit .281 with 14 homers and 62 RBIs at Double-A Frisco. He homered in the Futures Game in July in Kansas City during All-Star week.

Profar is the third-youngest player in Rangers history behind pitchers David Clyde and Wilson Alvarez.
