Report: Branch released by Patriots

According to ESPN, the New England Patriots have released two-time Super Bowl Champion Deion Branch. The 10 year veteran wide receiver had 5 touchdown receptions and 702 receiving yards last season, but only managed 4 catches for 64 yards in two games this pre-season. In Super Bowl XXXIX, Branch became the 1st wide receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP since Jerry Rice with the 49ers in 1989. Branch had re-signed with the Patriots as a free-agent this past off-season.
