Dynamo Moscow wants Ovechkin back
According to Mike Brehm of USA Today, Dynamo Moscow of the KHL is interested in having Alexander Ovechkin join their team, if there happens to be a lockout during the upcoming NHL season.
The two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner, played for Moscow during the previous lockout in 2004-05, recording 13 goals and 13 assists in 37 games.
"We will talk with Ovechkin. It will be up to the head coach," said Dynamo General Manager, Andrey Safronov.
The NHL and NHL Players' Association will try and reach a new collective bargaining agreement before the current one expires on Sept.15.
Ovechkin and his Washington Capitals were eliminated in the second round of the NHL playoffs in seven games by the New York Rangers. Despite the team's playoff run, Ovechkin is coming off his worst statistical season to date, recording 38 goals and 27 assists in 78 games.
