Robert Gibbs' Canada Jersey
No, it's not quite Obama himself rocking the red and white, but White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is... well, he's not even a close second. But we'll still take it!
According to the Vancouver Sun, he did so-- obviously-- because he lost a friendly bet with somebody named Dimitri Soudas, who is apparently Prime Minister Stephen Harper's spokesman. And he wore number 39 because it belongs to... wait for it... Ryan Miller. (Uh... OK.)
"The Gibbs bet with Soudas was essentially a side wager to a separate bet between Obama and Harper on the gold medal game's outcome," explains the Sun. "Obama, who watched the overtime portion of the Canada-U.S. gold medal game at the White House, promised to buy Harper a case of 24 Molson Canadian beer. Gibbs said the case of Molson from Obama would be delivered to Harper on Friday. The U.S. president is also shipping a case of Yuengling beer, from America's oldest brewery in Pennsylvania."
