Roger Clemens signs contract to play in Atlantic League
Roger Clemens is set to make his return to the mound. The 50-year-old is set to start this Saturday for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League.
Agent Randy Hendricks says that Clemens' fastball has hit 87 miles per hour on the radar gun. The 7-time Cy Young Award winner hasn’t pitched competitively since the 2007 ALDS as a member of the New York Yankees.
Clemens was acquitted last June of charges that he lied to the United States Congress regarding his alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs.
