Cooper, Jays walk-off ChiSox in 11 innings
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - David Cooper's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning sent Toronto past Chicago, 3-2, in the opener of a four-game series.
Jesse Crain retired Rajai Davis on a pop-up to start the frame, then Leyson Septimo (0-2) walked Kelly Johnson before yielding to Nate Jones, who gave up a base hit to Edwin Encarnacion which put runners on the corners.
Cooper stepped in and bounced a single to right which scored Johnson easily with the winning run.
It made a winner of Steve Delabar (3-1), who fanned six and didn't allow a hit over two scoreless relief innings.
