Report: Cowboys interested in Plaxico Burress

The Dallas Cowboys have had preliminary talks with free agent wide receiver Plaxico Burress, according to ESPN.

The team is currently thin at the position due to the loss of Laurent Robinson to free agency and a training camp hamstring injury to Miles Austin.  As a member of the New York Jets last season, the 34-year-old recorded 45 receptions with 612 yards and was tied for the team lead with 8 touchdowns.

In 2009, Burress was given a 2-year sentence for a weapons-related charge.
