Murray withdraws from Rogers Cup: Raonic advances
Olympic gold medallist Andy Murray has pulled out of the Rogers Cup due to a knee injury suffered during Wednesday’s opening round match against Flavio Cipolla. Murray says he is unsure whether he will participate in the U.S. Open later this month.
The Scotsman was set to play Canada’s Milos Raonic in the third round, however his withdrawal allows the Thornhill, Ontario native to reach the Rogers Cup quarter-finals for the first time in his career.
