Magic: Kobe, LeBron would make Dream Team

Now that Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan, Marc Gasol, and even President Obama, have weighed in on who would win between the 2012 men's USA Olympic basketball team and the 1992 Dream Team, it's Magic Johnson's turn.
Magic sat down with the Los Angeles Times to give his opinion on the much-talked about rivalry between teams separated by 20 years. "They shouldn't say that we're better, but they know that we would crush them," Magic said.
Two key components made the difference for Magic, size and championships. Magic explained that the Dream Team had over 20 NBA titles combined, while the 2012 team has only six titles (Kobe 5, LeBron 1).
When asked if any players on the current Olympic team could have made the Dream Team, Magic suggested that three had the ability to earn a Dream Team roster spot.
"You have to say that Kobe would definitely make it," Magic said. "LeBron, the best all-around player in the game, he would definitely make our team. And I think that Kevin Durant would have a shot as well."
The Dream Team went on to win Gold at the 1992 Olympics, winning all eight games by an average margin of 43 points. The 2012 team opened their tournament with a 98-71 victory over France.
