Report: Sharks won't deal Couture for Nash

The San Jose Sharks were listed on Rick Nash's short list of teams he would be willing to accept a trade to, but the Columbus Blue Jackets say that they have not spoken with the Sharks in "months," a source told CSN Bay Area.
One consistent theme in the Nash sweepstakes is that Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson is simply asking too much for the former first overall draft pick.
In an interview with TSN's Geno Reda, Howson said that he expects to receive NHL-ready forwards in return for Nash.
"If we do complete a trade, we're trading out a 30 to 40 goal scorer," Howson said. "Defence is probably the strongest part of our team if we look at it today, so we're looking to get some NHL forwards back first and foremost."
In the case of the Sharks, the Blue Jackets are including Sharks 23-year-old forward Logan Couture in every offer. The Sharks have no interest in trading their young all-star, thus the chances of Nash making the move to California are very slim.
