Report: Canucks "in the mix" to sign Shane Doan

The Vancouver Canucks are in the mix to land free agent forward Shane Doan, according to his agent Terry Bross. Eleven teams are said to be interested in the 16 year veteran.

Doan, who has spent his entire career with the Jets/Coyotes, was hoping to remain with the club, but decided to wait and see what happens with Greg Jamison's bid to buy the team before making a decision.

Doan is a co-owner of the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL and has family in the Vancouver area.

Last season, he scored 22 goals and registered 28 assists in 79 games.
