Report: Penguins added to Rick Nash's approved list
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been added to the list of teams that Rick Nash would waive his no-trade clause to play for, according to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch.
With the addition, the Penguins, Rangers, Flyers, Red Wings and Sharks are all on Nash's "approved" list. There are also believed to be one or two more teams on the list.
According to capgeek.com, with the increase of the salary cap to $70.2 million next season, the Penguins have 21 players under contract with roughly $10 million available on the cap.
Nash recorded 59 points (30 goals, 29 assists) in 82 games with the Blue Jackets last season. He is still under contract until 2017-18, with a cap hit of $7.8 million.
