Report: Anthony Davis suffers severely sprained ankle
UPDATE: The New Orleans Times-Picayune cites a source saying that Anthony Davis only has a "lightly sprained" ankle and is listed as day-to-day. Meanwhile, his ability to participate in workouts with Team USA in Las Vegas will be re-evaluated later this week.
According to Yahoo! Sports, New Orleans Hornets forward Anthony Davis recently suffered a severely sprained ankle during team workouts and will not participate with the U.S. Select squad in scrimmages against Team USA this month in Las Vegas. Any chance that Davis could have been named as a replacement for the 2012 “Dream Team” is now in jeopardy.
The first-overall pick in last Thursday’s NBA Draft joins Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and Derrick Rose among the players that will miss out on playing at the London Olympics due to injury.
