Red Wings sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year/ $3M deal

The Detroit Red Wings have signed former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Jonas Gustavsson to a two-year contract worth $3 million.

Gustavsson had been traded to the Winnipeg Jets by Toronto for a conditional seventh round draft pick on draft day. With the Jets re-signing goaltender Ondrej Pavelec, 'The Monster' was allowed to hit free agency and signed with the Red Wings.

In 2011-12, Gustavsson posted a 17-17-4 record in 42 games with a 2.92 GAA and .902 save percentage.
