Three Canadians taken in NBA draft
There were three Canadians selected in the NBA draft with Andrew Nicholson leading the way as Canada's only first-rounder. Kris Joseph and Robert Sacre were second round picks of the Boston Celtics and LA Lakers respectively.
Nicholson, a 6'9 forward from St. Bonaventure finished last season as the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year. He averaged 18.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in his final college season.
Joseph, a senior at Syracuse, put up 13.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg & 1.5 apg in the tough Big East conference. The small forward led Syracuse to the Elite Eight, before bowing out to Ohio State.
The 7-foot Sacre was the West Coast Conference's defensive player of the year. He averaged 11.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocked shots this season for Gonzaga.
