Report: Luongo will waive NTC for Panthers; not for Leafs

Roberto Luongo has agreed to waive his no-trade clause for a return to the Florida Panthers, according to a tweet from Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch. Luongo has agreed to be moved back to Florida, but nowhere else at this point. The report also states that Luongo has refused to waive his NTC for trades to Toronto and Chicago.

Luongo played 5 seasons in Florida before being traded to the Vancouver Canucks. He never made the playoffs with the Panthers, but posted a career-high .931 save% in 2003-04.

This past season in Vancouver, Luongo was supplanted as the team's starting goalie by Cory Schneider. Luongo played the first two games of their first round series with the LA Kings, before Schneider took over for the final three. Luongo put up a very respectable .919 save% and 2.41 GAA in 55 games with Vancouver this year.

Luongo's still reportedly spends his summers in Florida, with his wife Gina.
