White Sox acquire Kevin Youkilis

Longtime Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis has been traded to the Chicago White Sox according to multiple sources. In exchange, Boston is reportedly receiving pitcher Zach Stewart and utility player Brent Lillibridge. The Red Sox will also send roughly $5.5 million in cash to Chicago Youkilis has not been getting much playing time in Boston this season and has been rumoured for weeks to be on his way out.

In his final game for Boston on Sunday, Youkilis went 2-4 with an RBI, before receiving a standing ovation from the home crowd. He was a member of Boston's World Series championship teams in 2004 and 2007. He was also a 3-time all-star between 2008-2011.

This season, Youkilis has appeared in just 42 of Boston's 72 games. He is batting .233 this season with 4 home runs. In his career at Chicago's US Cellular Field, Youkilis has a .341 on-base %, which is 47 points below his career average.
