Leafs trade Schenn to Flyers for Van Riemsdyk

The Toronto Maple Leafs have sent defenceman Luke Schenn to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for left winger James Van Riemsdyk according to multiple reports.
Schenn, the fifth overall selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, recorded 22 points in 79 games and recorded a -6 rating in 2011-12. The 22 points tied Schenn's career high set in 2010-11 while he recorded the most penalty minutes since his rookie season with 62. He has spent his entire career in Toronto.
Van Riemsdyk was selected second overall in 2007. During an injury shortened 2011-12 season, Van Riemsdyk recorded 24 points in 43 games for the Flyers and added another 2 points in seven playoff games. He chipped in with seven goals in 11 games during the 2010-11 playoffs which tied Daniel Briere for the team lead.
The trade reunites Schenn with his brother Brayden in Philadelphia. The Flyers acquired Brayden on June 23, 2011, one year before the trade for Luke.
