Report: Sharks & Blue Jackets cut off Nash talks
The San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets have cut off trade talks in regards to Rick Nash. According to the report the deal-breaker was that San Jose refused to include Logan Couture in any potential trade offer.
Nash had reportedly asked to be traded at the trade deadline in February, but a deal could not be reached. Recently, as many as 7 teams were rumoured to be interested in his services.
The 27-year old Nash, had 59 points in 82 games for Columbus this past season. He has career-highs of 41 goals and 79 points. Nash has only made one playoff appearance, in 2008-09, when Columbus was swept by Detroit in the first round. The Brampton, Ontario native is under contract until 2017-18, at $7.8 million per season.
