Swansea agrees Sigurdsson deal
Swansea, Wales (Sports Network) - Swansea City has come to an agreement with Hoffenheim over the permanent transfer of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The 22-year-old joined Swansea on loan for the second half of last season and made a notable impact, scoring seven goals in 18 games for the Welsh side.
Swansea made it known that the club was interested in making the move permanent, but faced competition from other clubs for the services of Sigurdsson.
However, the Swans have agreed to a transfer fee of $10.6 million, with personal terms also having been settled.
The Iceland international joined Hoffenheim from Reading in 2010, but he will remain at the Liberty Stadium after undergoing a medical later this week with Swansea, which finished its first season in England's top flight in 11th place.
