Barry ruled out of England's Euro 2012 squad
London, England (Sports Network) - Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has been ruled out of England's Euro 2012 team because of an abdominal injury.
Barry sustained the problem in England's 1-0 friendly win over Norway on Saturday, and after undergoing tests on Monday, it was determined that he would not be fit in time for a place in Roy Hodgson's team.
Instead of bringing in another midfielder to replace Barry, Hodgson has called upon Everton defender Phil Jagielka, who has earned a seat on the plane for Poland and Ukraine after a season in which he appeared in 30 Premiership matches for the Toffees.
England has one more friendly, against Belgium, before beginning its Euro 2012 campaign on June 11 against France.
