Napoli downs Juventus in Coppa Italia final
Rome, Italy (Sports Network) - Juventus' perfect domestic season ended in the Coppa Italia final Sunday, as Napoli denied the Serie A champions their third domestic double with a 2-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico.
Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik scored in the second half for Napoli, which won its first title in more than 20 years. Napoli's last title was the Serie A crown in 1989-90, the final crown during a successful run with Diego Maradona.
Napoli has won the Coppa Italia four times, with the last also when Maradona was a player for the club in 1986-87. Juventus was denied a 10th Coppa Italia crown following its unbeaten 23-0-15 league campaign.
