MacDonald to start Sunday vs Sharks
Joey MacDonald will get the start Sunday afternoon when Detroit hosts the San Jose Sharks according to NHL.com. Howard was initially expected to return on Sunday after missing the last seven games with a broken finger.
MacDonald has won five consecutive starts allowing just eight goals over that span.
Head coach Mike Babcock wants to ride the hot hand in MacDonald and allows Howard a few more days rest before a possible start on Tuesday against Chicago.
