Lakers look to add depth

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking for depth and they are reportedly one of five teams interested in signing soon-to-be free agent Kenyon Martin. The Lakers are also considering bringing former NBA big-man Rasheed Wallace out of retirement, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Martin has spent his 2011-12 season committed to Xinjiang Gyang Hui of the Chinese Basketball Association. The 34-year-old, former first overall draft pick has returned to the United States to work out, but cannot sign with an NBA team until the Chinese league's season ends. Martin could be available to play as early as the middle of February.

Martin averaged 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 48 games with the Denver Nuggets last season.

Wallace retired following the 2009-10 season with the Boston Celtics. After sitting out the entire 2010-11 season, the 37-year-old has reportedly contacted the Lakers with an interest in returning to the NBA.
