Bargnani MRI shows no damage, but out indefinitely
Toronto Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani suffered a strained calf in the Raptors' 111-106 double overtime win over the Utah Jazz and underwent an MRI on Thursday. The team announced on Friday that Bargnani's MRI showed no structural damage, but there remains no timetable for his return.
Bargnani was forced from Wednesday's game in the first overtime with a strained calf, his second calf injury in under a month. The former first overall selection did manage 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the game before exiting.
Losing their team leader could not have come at a worse time for the Raptors, as the team has found a groove winning their last two games after surrendering eight straight.
Following their victory over the Jazz, Bargnani said that this calf injury was "much worse" than the last one. Bargnani missed six games with his previous injury, a period in which the Raptors went 0-6.
