According to reports the Philadelphia Phillies have signed Cuban pitching prospect Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez to a six-year deal worth more than $50 million. Bidding had been tense for the hard-throwing 26-year old right handed export, who has been suspended from the Cuban national team for attempting to leave Cuba to pursue a career in the major leagues. The signing would be a record for an international player.
