Marseille's Mendy sidelined for 6-8 weeks with hamstring injury

Fresh off a contract extension with the club, Marseille left-back Benjamin Mendy has been ruled out for six-to-eight weeks after injuring his thigh in Sunday's Coupe de France defeat of Caen.
Mendy's ailment comes at a bad time for Marseille, as deputy left-back Paolo De Ceglie suffered a neck injury in the same match, the club announced Wednesday. That leaves the gaffer with limited options at full-back.
Mendy, 21, has been one of few constants at Stade Velodrome this season, appearing in 16 league matches for Michel's side with a goal and an assist paired with six Europa League starts
