Believe it or not, but Abou Diaby is one step away from finally taking the pitch for Olympique de Marseille.

Ligue 1's official website writes that Diaby, one of the most injury-prone players football has ever seen, completed his first full training session since he joined Marseille, and just needs a green light from the club's medical staff in order to be eligible for its fixture versus Lorient on Sunday.

Before putting pen to paper with Marseille in June, Diaby, 29, suffered an alarming 42 injuries during a nine-year association with Arsenal, forcing him to spend an unbelievable 2,156 days out injured.

In fact, Diaby hasn't played in a competitive match since May of 2014.

Marseille announced over one month ago that Diaby had participated in his first training session since joining the club, but it only took minutes before pain forced the French midfielder to stop.
