Paris Saint-Germain, Marco Verratti agree to contract extension through 2019
Marco Verratti has extended his stay with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Italian midfielder, 21, signed a one-year contract extension with the club Monday, a deal that ties him to the reigning French champions until 2019.
Verratti, who has made 88 appearances for the club since joining from Pescara in 2012, had this to say of the announcement:
When I think about my career, I only see myself at Paris Saint-Germain. I want to continue winning trophies with this club, while continue to improve as a footballer alongside truly world class players. Paris est magique (Paris is magic)!
With a number of clubs reportedly interested in his services - particularly in his home country - the new deal will help ease concerns among PSG supporters that the talented youngster could be on his way out in the near future.
