Paris Saint-Germain is expected to complete a €25-million deal for Benfica stud Goncalo Guedes this week, a source close to the French outfit told ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson.

The news is a big blow to Manchester United, which was linked with the 20-year-old Portuguese who's been heralded as the next Cristiano Ronaldo.

PSG boss Unai Emery confirmed Monday that Guedes is on the club's list of transfer targets.

Director of football Patrick Kluivert travelled to Lisbon to meet with the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, according to Jackson. Mendes also represents Ronaldo, Jose Mourinho, and PSG pair Thiago Silva and Angel Di Maria, among several other high-profile clients.

A flashy footballer who can play both centrally and on the wings, Guedes would be PSG's second major coup of the January transfer window after Julian Draxler. He was left out of Benfica's recent league fixture against Tondela as speculation over his future began to intensify.

Scoring seven goals and registering another seven assists this season, Guedes has developed into an electrifying player under Benfica manager Rui Vitoria. His speed and skill set him apart from the competition, and his versatility helped Benfica's attacking department when prolific scorer Jonas succumbed to injury.

The Benavente native earned his Portugal debut in November 2015, becoming the first 18-year-old to make the senior squad since a certain Ronaldo did it in 2003.

Confirmation of the move would almost certainly spell the end of Jese's tenure in the French capital. On the outskirts of Emery's plans, the Spaniard has fielded reported interest from Las Palmas and Roma.

"I have spoken with the club and the player," Emery said of Jese, according to Johnson. "I argued my case with both as to why I have made this decision on him. Now, in order to leave, it is up to Jese, his agent and the club."

Javier Pastore's future is under threat as well. In a separate report, Johnson relays that PSG is losing patience with the Argentine, who has struggled to stay healthy over the past two seasons.
