Lallana: 'Leaving Liverpool has never entered my mind'

Liverpool and England midfielder Adam Lallana is flattered by rumors linking him with Paris Saint-Germain, but he's more than happy on Merseyside.

"It's a great compliment to be spoken of in the same breath as a club like PSG with those sorts of numbers," Lallana told Sky Sports' Jamie Redknapp. "But I'm absolutely loving my football at the minute under this boss and I can only see myself being here for the long term."

The St Albans, Hertfordshire native has been a vital cog in Klopp's side this season, pairing three goals with five assists and proving an integral link between the midfield and the electric attacking trio.

This weekend's 4-3 loss on the South Coast at the hands of minnow Bournemouth was nothing short of a meltdown, but on a positive note for the Reds, Lallana was back in action for the first time since picking up a groin strain in November.

He played just over 20 minutes after coming on for Sadio Mane in the second half.

Despite the occasional splutter, the 28-year old had some kind words about his club and his ebullient German manager.

"I love it here at the minute, especially since the manager has come in," Lallana said. "We have each other's trust and you do not always get that at clubs. The thought of leaving Liverpool has never entered my mind."

The ambidextrous midfielder said Klopp has a clear method to his madness, and, like a stage performer, he comes to life once the whistle is blown.

"He has a game-day emotion," Lallana said. "During the week in training, he is happy, smiley, and a normal guy. On game day, he's animated and acts like a player.

"He's a genius."
