Reunited and it feels so good.

A year after leaving the Stade Velodrome to join Qatari club Al-Arabi SC, veteran full-back Rod Fanni has returned to Marseille on a free transfer.

Twice UNFP Ligue 1 Team of the Year member (2008-09, 2009-10), Fanni rejoins the club were he enjoyed his best spell, Marseille announced with a statement on its website Wednesday. The club did not divulge the terms or conditions of the signing.

No stranger to Olympique, Fanni plied his trade with Marseille for five years after joining the club in Dec. 2010 from Rennes. He made 127 appearances for the south-coast side, pairing five goals with two Coupe de la Ligue victories on the trot.

Fanni, 34, moved to Al-Arabi on a free transfer in July 2015 before he was loaned to Championship side Charlton Athletic for the second-half of the season. With Charlton, Fanni made 13 starts for The Addicks amid a forgettable season at The Valley, with the club relegated on the heels of a dismal 22nd-place finish.
