Tottenham Hotspur's pursuit of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is reportedly on the verge of falling through.

According to the Guardian's Ed Aarons, a dispute with Olympique de Marseille over the structure of the transfer means Tottenham's attempt to sign Nkoudou "is on the brink of collapse." The French club is apparently understood to be unhappy with the arrangement of the payments put forward by Daniel Levy, Spurs' chairman who previously agreed to pay the majority of the fee up front.

Specifically, Levy allegedly tried to renegotiate the structure of the payments after Vincent Labrune was no longer Marseille's president, offering an initial fee of £4.2 million that could eventually reach £11 million, falling short of what the French club wanted.

It was reportedly over three weeks ago that Nkoudou - who tallied five goals and three assists through 28 Ligue 1 appearances last season - completed a medical at Tottenham, and the Cameroon international has been in London since then.

Nkoudou's move to White Hart Lane looked set for completion after Clinton Njie apparently earned the work permit needed to join Marseille on a season-long loan.
