This is not the place for legitimate reports and completed deals. Here, we compile the ludicrous transfer rumours that arise during this month of madness in the football world. Each day until the summer transfer window shuts, theScore will provide a rundown of the most outlandish babble from the backpages, briefing you on the transfer gossip throughout Europe.

Here's what the rumour mill is churning out today:

United identifies Ramsey as backup plan

If negotiations with Borussia Dortmund fail to convince the Bundesliga side to sell Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Manchester United has identified Aaron Ramsey as the ideal backup plan.

However, it won't come cheap, as The Sun reports that manager Jose Mourinho and his new team will start their bidding at £35 million in order to convince rival Arsenal to sell the Welsh midfielder.

Considering the rocky relationship between Mourinho and Arsenal gaffer Arsene Wenger, that figure might be miserly. The Sun expects Ramsey to fetch £50 million.

Chelsea prepared to launch Morata bid?

Chelsea is ready to bolster its attacking unit with one of the stars at Euro 2016 as the club considers a move for Spain forward Alvaro Morata.

Real Madrid recently confirmed it had triggered the buyback clause in his contract with Juventus, but Los Blancos may be looking to profit from the in-form striker immediately. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich took in Morata's match Tuesday and the club's already opened talks to sign him, Jason Burt of The Telegraph reports. According to Burt, it could take a £40-million offer to land the 23-year-old.

Mane headed to Liverpool?

Liverpool looks set to dip back into the Southampton talent pool and bring yet another player up to Anfield.

After raiding St Mary's Stadium with acquisitions such as Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, and others over the years, Liverpool is ready for another helping after being linked with a move for Sadio Mane, according to the Daily Mail's Ian Ladyman.

The speedy forward, however, could cost the Merseyside outfit close to £25 million if Southampton agrees to part ways with the 24-year-old, who bagged 11 goals in 37 Premier League appearances last term.

West Ham returns to Lacazette bargaining table

West Ham will, once again, attempt to persuade Lyon to part ways with forward Alexandre Lacazette.

After its previous attempts failed to convince the Ligue 1 outfit, the Mirror's John Cross reports that the Hammers are willing to pay £30 million as the club attempts to sign an elite forward ahead of its first season at the Olympic Stadium.
