Report: Chelsea eyeing Mandanda as Begovic replacement

Chelsea is keen on replacing back-up goalkeeper Asmir Begovic with Marseille shot-stopper Steve Mandanda, whose contract with the French club expires at the end of the month, reports The Guardian.

Mandanda, 31, is currently with France at Euro 2016 as back-up to Hugo Lloris and is supposedly on the Blues' shopping list for the summer transfer window as Antonio Conte takes over the helm at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea is reportedly willing to part ways with Begovic after the Bosnian expressed his desire for more playing time. The former Stoke City netminder sat behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order with the Blues last season.

Mandanda is also drawing interest from Everton and Crystal Palace, with the four-time Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year expressing his desire to move abroad earlier in the summer.

"It would be a nice adventure on both a sporting and a personal level," Mandanda said, according to The Guardian. "The two leagues that interest me most are the Premier League and La Liga."
