Giovani Dos Santos among those named to Mexico squad

With a spot in CONCACAF's Hex sorted, Mexico has unveiled its 23-man squad for a pair of October friendlies against New Zealand and Panama.

Among the notable selections is LA Galaxy star and leading scorer Giovani Dos Santos, who has been recalled by Juan Carlos Osorio for the first time since he represented his country during the 2015 Gold Cup.

With 14 goals and 12 assists this season, Dos Santos has enjoyed a return to form with the record five-time MLS champs this season, prompting his recall to the squad after he insisted a preference to focus on club over country.

Joined in the squad is Dos Santos' brother, Jonathan (Villarreal), who is one of two players in Osorio's budding lot plying their trade in Europe alongside Marco Fabian (Eintracht Frankfurt).

Here's a look at the squad for the tilt with New Zealand in Nashville on Oct. 8 and three days later in Chicago against Panama:
