Arsenal's Wilshere returns to full training

There was a welcome sight at Arsenal's training ground Thursday with the return of midfielder Jack Wilshere, who participated in his first full training session since fracturing his leg last August.

Manager Arsene Wenger said he hasn't yet decided whether to include him in the under-21 squad as the Arsenal medical staff assesses Wilshere during his first week back.

"It is his first week back in full training and we'll see how he responds to that, but the first signs are quite good. We'll assess our options next week," Wenger said.

Although there is no timetable for Wilshere's return, the London Evening Standard reports that the 24-year-old is optimistic he'll be back on the pitch by the end of April.

A return to the squad before the season concludes would also raise Wilshere's chances of being selected by England manager Roy Hodgson ahead of the European Championship this summer in France.

Wilshere, who sustained the injury during a training ground collision, has not appeared in a match since Arsenal's FA Cup final triumph over Aston Villa last May.

Wenger also announced that Tomas Rosicky returned to full training after a long battle with a quadriceps injury, and added that Petr Cech is nearing a return to the first team.
